Verbs whose particle can never be split from them.
Why you specifically

Trong tiếng Anh, một số cụm động từ là “không tách được” (inseparable phrasal verbs). Nghĩa là giới từ/tiểu từ đi kèm với động từ phải đứng liền với động từ, không được chèn tân ngữ vào giữa. Ví dụ: look after, run into, listen to, talk about, come across. Ta nói I look after my sister, chứ không nói I look my sister after. Ta nói She ran into an old friend, chứ không nói She ran an old friend into. I am looking after my niece, She will look after the children. Điểm này khác với phrasal verbs separable (cụm động từ có thể tách), như turn off, put on, take off. Với loại đó, ta có thể nói turn off the light hoặc turn the light off. Nhưng với inseparable phrasal verbs, cách chèn tân ngữ vào giữa là sai: run the teacher into, listen the instructions to, come a solution across. Khi làm bài IELTS, đặc biệt ở Writing và Speaking, lỗi này làm câu nghe rất “không tự nhiên” và có thể bị coi là lỗi ngữ pháp. Hãy nhớ: nếu cụm động từ là inseparable, đừng tách nó ra.
The rule
Inseparable phrasal verbs stay together. Their particle cannot move away from the verb, so the object must come after the whole verb phrase: look after the child, run into a friend, talk about the plan, listen to the teacher. This is different from separable phrasal verbs, where the object can often go in the middle, such as turn the light off / turn off the light. For inseparable phrasal verbs, that middle position is wrong. A good test is to ask whether the verb phrase sounds complete only when the particle stays attached. If yes, do not split it. With these verbs, the rule is about word order, not meaning. You can still use objects, pronouns, gerunds, or clauses after the full phrasal verb, but not between the verb and its particle. For example, we say look after my brother, came across an article, and listened to the advice. We do not say look my brother after or came an article across.
The trap

I will look my sister after tonight.
I will look after my sister tonight.
Look after is an inseparable phrasal verb, so the object must come after the whole verb phrase. You cannot put the object between look and after.
We ran our old teacher into at the airport.
We ran into our old teacher at the airport.
Run into is inseparable, so the object cannot be placed between run and into.
Please listen the instructions to carefully.
Please listen to the instructions carefully.
Listen to is inseparable, so the object or complement must follow the full verb phrase.
She came a useful article across yesterday.
She came across a useful article yesterday.
Come across is inseparable, so a noun object cannot split the verb and the particle.
