Why you specifically
The rule
Subject pronouns are used for the subject of a clause: I, you, he, she, it, we, they. Object pronouns are used after verbs and prepositions: me, you, him, her, it, us, them. In English, the pronoun form depends on its role in the sentence, not on Vietnamese-style word order.
The trap
She called I after dinner.
She called me after dinner.
Me is the object pronoun. It comes after the verb called.
They invited we to the party.
They invited us to the party.
Us is the object pronoun. It follows the verb invited.
Him and me went to the shop.
He and I went to the shop.
I is the subject pronoun here because it is part of the subject of the sentence.
The teacher saw he in the hall.
The teacher saw him in the hall.
Him is the object pronoun. It comes after the verb saw.
