Non-specific quantity across affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms.
Why you specifically

The rule
Some and any are used with indefinite amounts or numbers. Use some in affirmative sentences, and also in offers and requests. Use any in negative sentences and usually in questions. With uncountable nouns like water, rice, sugar, and help, and with plural nouns like books or apples, the same rule still applies.
