Why you specifically
Câu hỏi đuôi (question tags) là một câu hỏi ngắn thêm ở cuối câu khẳng định hoặc phủ định. Trong tiếng Anh, trợ động từ ở câu đuôi thường phải khớp với trợ động từ ở mệnh đề chính và đảo sang cực tính ngược lại: câu chính khẳng định + câu đuôi phủ định, câu chính phủ định + câu đuôi khẳng định. Nếu mệnh đề chính không có trợ động từ, ta dùng do/does/did trong câu đuôi. Với động từ be, động từ khuyết thiếu (can, will, must...), thì hoàn thành, và cấu trúc there is/are, phải lặp lại đúng trợ động từ tương ứng. Đại từ trong câu đuôi cũng phải đúng với chủ ngữ của câu chính: he, she, it, they, we, you, I. Đây là điểm rất quan trọng cho IELTS vì người nói dùng question tags để xin xác nhận, làm câu nói mềm hơn, và giữ nhịp hội thoại. Ngoại lệ đáng nhớ: với I am, dạng thường dùng là aren't I? Câu mệnh lệnh thường dùng will you?, won't you?, hoặc can/could you? tùy sắc thái.
The rule
Question tags are short questions added to the end of a statement. In English, the tag usually repeats the auxiliary verb from the main clause and changes polarity: positive statement + negative tag, negative statement + positive tag. If the main clause has no auxiliary, use do/does/did in the tag. For be, modal verbs, perfect tenses, and there is/are, repeat the correct auxiliary form. The pronoun in the tag must match the subject of the statement: he, she, it, they, we, you, I. This pattern is very important for IELTS because speakers use tags to check information, soften statements, and keep conversation flowing. Exception: with I am, the usual tag is aren't I? The tag for imperatives is often will you?, won't you?, or can/could you? depending on tone.

In a question tag, the auxiliary must match the main clause, and the tag must reverse the polarity. The statement is positive, so the tag is negative.

A negative statement normally takes a positive tag. Using another negative tag does not form a standard question tag.
We have finished, don't we?
We have finished, haven't we?
The tag must use the correct auxiliary from the main clause. In the present perfect, the auxiliary is have.
Open the window, do you?
Open the window, will you?
Imperatives often take will you? or won't you? depending on tone. Do you? is not the usual tag for an imperative.
