Why you specifically
The rule
Each and every both refer to all members of a group, but they focus on them in different ways. Each stresses individual items or people one by one; every stresses the whole group. Both are followed by a singular noun and usually take a singular verb: each student is, every student is. In structures like each of the books and every one of the books, the verb is still singular because the subject is treated as singular. Every can also be used for repeated time expressions such as every day, every week, and every year.
The trap
Each student have a laptop.
Each student has a laptop.
Each means every person or thing separately, so the verb is singular. In Vietnamese, learners often use a plural idea with a plural verb.
Every day are busy for me.
Every day is busy for me.
Every is followed by a singular noun and takes a singular verb. Do not use a plural verb after every.
Each of the books are interesting.
Each of the books is interesting.
After each of, the verb is singular because the subject is still treated one by one. The noun after of is plural, but the verb is not.
Every students in the class need a book.
Every student in the class needs a book.
Every is used with a singular noun, even when it refers to all members of a group. The verb must also be singular.
