Why you specifically
Trong tiếng Anh, các cụm động từ với take có nghĩa rất khác nhau, nên không thể đoán chỉ từ từ take. Take up thường có nghĩa là bắt đầu một hoạt động, sở thích hoặc môn học mới, và cũng có thể nghĩa là bắt đầu bàn về một vấn đề. The rule
Phrasal verbs with take can have different meanings, so you must learn them as separate expressions. Take up usually means start an activity, hobby, or subject, and it can also mean begin discussing something. Take on means accept a job, role, task, or responsibility, or employ someone. Take after means resemble a parent or another family member in appearance or character. For IELTS, the main danger is choosing the wrong verb because the base word take looks familiar, but the particle changes the meaning completely.

She takes after her mother in both appearance and temperament.
Take after means to resemble a family member in appearance or character. It does not mean to chase or to follow behind someone.
I am taking after yoga this month.
I am taking up yoga this month.
Take up means to start a hobby, activity, or new subject. It does not mean to continue something that already exists.
The company will take after more staff next year.
The company will take on more staff next year.
Take on means to employ, accept, or assume a task, role, or responsibility. It does not mean to copy someone else.
I need to take on the issue with my manager.
I need to take up the issue with my manager.
Take up can also mean to raise a subject for discussion. Take on is wrong here because the meaning is not hiring or accepting work.
