Get up, get on, get over, and the rest of a very dense cluster.
Why you specifically

Các cụm động từ với get rất hay gặp nhưng mỗi tiểu từ lại đổi nghĩa hoàn toàn. Get up nghĩa là thức dậy, rời khỏi giường; get on và get off dùng khi lên/xuống xe buýt, tàu, máy bay; get over nghĩa là hồi phục sau bệnh tật, cú sốc hoặc vấn đề; get along with là hòa hợp với ai đó; get back là quay lại; get by là xoay xở, sống tạm/đủ qua ngày; get through là vượt qua, hoàn thành việc khó; get together là tụ tập, gặp nhau. Với người học tiếng Việt, lỗi thường gặp là dịch từng chữ từ tiếng Việt sang tiếng Anh, nên chọn sai giới từ/tiểu từ đi sau get.
The rule
Phrasal verbs with get are very common, but the particle changes the meaning completely. Get up means leave bed, get on and get off refer to buses, trains, and planes, get over means recover from an illness or problem, get along with means have a good relationship, get back means return, get by means manage with difficulty, get through means finish or survive something difficult, and get together means meet or gather. In IELTS, the main risk is choosing the wrong particle because Vietnamese often translates these ideas more literally than English does.
The trap

I get wake at 6 a.m. every day.
I get up at 6 a.m. every day.
Get up means “leave bed” or “rise.” The wrong sentence uses get up as if it only means “wake,” but in English the usual idea is that you get out of bed.
She got in the bus and sat near the window.
She got on the bus and sat near the window.
Get on means “enter and board a bus, train, or plane.” The wrong sentence does not use the correct phrasal verb.
He got from his cold in three days.
He got over his cold in three days.
Get over means “recover from” an illness, shock, or problem. The wrong sentence uses the base verb instead of the needed particle.
Please get on with your classmates.
Please get along with your classmates.
Get along with means “have a good relationship with.” The wrong sentence uses the wrong particle and does not express this meaning.
