Arranging for someone else to do something, as in have the car repaired.
Why you specifically

Cấu trúc causative have/get được dùng khi bạn nhờ hoặc thuê người khác làm gì cho mình. Mẫu câu là have/get + tân ngữ + quá khứ phân từ: I had my car repaired = tôi đã mang xe đi sửa / nhờ người khác sửa xe cho tôi; She got her hair cut = cô ấy đi cắt tóc. Với câu hỏi và phủ định, trợ động từ vẫn đổi như bình thường: Did you have your passport renewed?; He didn’t get his phone fixed.
The rule
The causative have/get is used when you arrange for another person or a service company to do something for you. The form is have/get + object + past participle: I had my car repaired, She got her hair cut, We had the house painted. In negative and question forms, the auxiliary changes in the normal way: Did you have your passport renewed? He didn’t get his phone fixed. Be careful not to use an active verb after the object: I had my car repaired is correct, but I had repaired my car means something different and does not express the causative meaning.
