The rule
Basic English word order in simple statements is usually subject + verb + object. Adverbials such as time and place usually come after the main clause, although some adverbs, like often and usually, come before the main verb.
The trap
She every morning drinks coffee.
She drinks coffee every morning.
English usually follows subject + verb + object/adverbial order. Vietnamese learners may move the time phrase to the front in a way that sounds unnatural in simple English sentences.
They now are watching a film.
They are watching a film now.
The adverb now normally comes after the main verb phrase, not between the subject and verb.
Lives in Hanoi my brother.
My brother lives in Hanoi.
A basic statement needs a subject before the verb. Vietnamese word order can make it easy to omit or move the subject, but English still needs it.
I study usually at night.
I usually study at night.
Adverbs of frequency usually come before the main verb, but after be. The sentence still follows normal English word order around the subject and verb.
