Modifying a noun versus modifying a verb, a distinction Vietnamese marks less overtly.
Why you specifically

She sings beautiful” thay vì “She sings beautifully”.
The rule
Adjectives describe nouns or follow linking verbs such as be, seem, look, taste, and sound. Adverbs describe verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. In English, many adverbs end in -ly, but not all, and some words like fast, hard, late, and well can work as both adjectives and adverbs depending on the sentence.
The trap

She sings beautiful.
She sings beautifully.
Beautifully is an adverb, so it correctly describes the verb sings.
He is a fastly runner.
He is a fast runner.
Fast is an adjective, so it correctly describes the noun runner.
The soup tastes well.
The soup tastes good.
Good is an adjective, so it correctly follows the linking verb tastes.
Please speak clear.
Please speak clearly.
Clearly is an adverb, so it correctly describes how to speak.
